Asbestos and hazmat testing page library, Metro Vancouver
Sister company to the restoration contractor above. 1 tests, 1 remediates. 2 businesses, 1 owner, cross-referral by design.

6 pages, 0 organic traffic, 3 indexed

The starting point
The client tests for asbestos and other hazardous materials across Metro Vancouver. Its sister company, the restoration contractor, does the remediation. Same owner, 2 businesses, and cross-referral was designed into both sites from the start.
This build has the clearest before state in the portfolio: 6 pages, 3 of them indexed, and 0 organic traffic. That is a common starting point for a trade business. Plenty of good operators have a site that exists without being found, and it is an honest place to measure from, because anything that shows up in search afterwards is new.
What we built
The library puts asbestos testing and hazmat survey pages in the cities the company works in. The sample listed below covers asbestos testing in Surrey, Delta, White Rock and New Westminster, and hazmat surveys in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond and North Vancouver.
Alongside the city grid sit 2 standalone pages: asbestos testing cost, and vermiculite insulation testing. Not every search carries a city, and the ones that ask about price or a specific material still deserve their own page.
Cross-referral with the sister company is part of the architecture rather than a footer link: each business can hand a visitor to the other at the point in a job where the other is needed. Phase 1 put 42 pages live across the 2 companies together.
How the build ran
- 01
A baseline that is easy to read
With 3 pages indexed and no organic traffic, the before state needs no interpretation. Search Console goes on from the first phase on every build, so every impression after launch can be traced to the new pages.
- 02
Indexing is the first thing to prove
When half of a small site is missing from the index, getting pages into it comes before anything else. Sitemaps go in with each phase and each page is checked in the index, which is how Phase 1 was signed off.
- 03
Pages only where demand is measured
Each city page exists because searches for that service in that city were measured and saved before the page was written. Cities with nothing behind them are left out of the plan rather than padded in.
- 04
Impressions first, rankings after
Impressions are the honest early signal while new pages index. Ranking movement follows as the pages mature, and the monthly report says which is which, in plain English.
The lowest possible starting point, and the library built on top of it. If your site is small, half indexed and gets no search traffic, this build is the closest to where you are, and it shows the order we would work in: get found at all, then get found for each service in each city.
It also shows how 2 related businesses can share 1 plan. Testing and remediation are different searches made at different moments in the same job, so each company gets its own library and the 2 point at each other. The programmatic SEO playbook explains why each page needs its own substance to hold up.

What we publish, and what we hold back
The client's name and domain are withheld until they approve being named. The before state and the page counts come from the build record, August 2026.
We have not published after figures for this build yet. When we do, they will come from the client's own Search Console export, with the windows and the source named, the way the results case does.
